Challenge Your Camera: Up to the Tippy Top!

There are many kinds of Stairs and Steps when you travel…..inside and outside………Let’s see some S’s and S’s from the Mediterranean!

Challenge Your Camera, 2021

Even if you cruise, sometimes you will prefer to take the stairs………but there is an elevator on the side! Do you see it?

SS Voyager Atrium

There are also the Back Stairs………

I loved the steep stairs in Eze, France

and the wide stairs in Varenna, Italy………

In Orvieto, Italy, our stairs to the bedroom of our apartment looked like this……..

Sometimes not only the steps, but the handrails can be iffy!

Stairs in Portofino, Italy

Sometimes the folks don’t even want you on the stairs!

You just want to be in the shade after climbing these stairs in Amalfi, Italy………

AND, In Dubrovnik, Croatia, you can wonder what these things on the stairs are…….

But, the best part of Stairs or Steps is my reward for getting up them!

Won’t you join Dr B and The Buddha Walks Into a Wine Bar for the latest challenge? He writes………..

Photography is one of those activities we can all have fun with and blog about, at home, in the garden, walking the streets, in the countryside, in a museum or gallery ….. the opportunities are endless. You can be a wizard or a novice with a camera or a smartphone, or a crafty manipulator with Photoshop, or Lightroom or Snapseed. It really doesn’t matter how you create your image because in the end it is a work of art, a creation, a memory, and possibly a source of inspiration to others. Blogging your images is easy too, few words needed, let the picture tell the story. And, very importantly in these strange times, it can give us a distraction, a positive focus, connect us with others, and build a community via our blogs. So why not join in, start snapping and sharing with me.

Each week Dr B is selecting a single theme to point his camera at or display a few photos from his collection as a way to brighten up the week as we enter a new year, which we all hope will be brighter than the last. If you would like to join him in #challengeyourcamera then here’s what to do:

1. Follow him to discover the weekly theme he has chosen.
2. Select a few photos related to the week’s theme
3. Post your own photos that week, any day you like.
4. Include a caption with each photo so we know what/where it is
5. Include a ping back/link to his blog in your post so that he is notified, can follow you back and can appreciate and comment on your choices.
6. Include the tag #challengeyourcamera

1. He will follow you back
2. He will encourage other posters to follow you
3. He will list each blogger in my weekly post

Theme #5 Stairs and Steps

Today, is the challenge theme, #5 Stairs and Steps. So give it a go, challenge your camera with different angles, lighting, time of day etc etc.

This is another photo challenge that is going to be fun! Won’t you join in? CHALLENGE YOUR CAMERA

A really good selection of steps there. It is hard not to hotograph those in Italy, isn’t it? Youer Amalfi steps took me back to just 18 months ago when I was there (eating that fabulous ice-cream). My favourite has to be Portofino with its colourful geraniums.

    1. Mari, I could do books on my Stairs and Steps photos! I take a lot of photos of them! We were in Amalfi about the same time you were! We probably crossed each others path! Wouldn’t that be something? I have a new idea for a challenge, but can’t decide if I want to “LEAD IT” or not. That seems very time consuming and my goal this year is to write a post every day, so I don’t know if I am up to all that… hmmm I’ll ponder some more! I do have more TIME this year since I’m not off to any where exotic!

I can vouch for those steps at Amalfi! And Eze looks such a pretty village 🙂 🙂 Why do you want to post daily? It takes so much time and energy to keep up with.

    1. Yes, I agree with you on that! But, it was something I had in my head for this year! AND, I do have more time! AND, I do like all the challenges! I have a Challenge in mind that I have wondered about leading, but that takes a lot of time right? What are your thoughts on a Challenge? Your Monday Walks have been so successful! Any tips for me?

Did you read my interview with Marsha Ingrao? I don’t think so. I’m actually a bit anti the challenges. They lead you by the nose to places I don’t necessarily want to go. They’re great for intros to new people when you start up but after a while you start to think why do I need this. You can only spend so many hours on the blog or you don’t have a life. And then there are the spammers. They make me so cross! You’re going to say, but you take part in challenges! I have a couple of long standing friends and I take part as and when can. At some point you have to start being a bit selfish? I write for me and, don’t get me wrong, I love the applause! But I have to want to do it. It really depends why you blog. I’m a frustrated travel writer who was too timid/lazy to go after remunerative work. Honest answer. Might not be what you expected? And I don’t regard my walks as a challenge. There are no rekwirements- sorry about my missing letter- that would go down well with a professional company, wouldn’t it? I do it because I genuinely enjoy a walk and it seemed to sit easily with me. Enough, already! Rant over- sorry you asked? 🙂 🙂

Old stone steps in Europe are the most picturesque, to me, but you won’t catch me climbing those without railings! I suppose I could crawl up on hands and knees, eh?

    1. Jo, I have seen people do that too! And I think that takes a very religious or pious person! I just take the stairs slow and try to get them over with, especially when it’s hot!
