Dear Friends,
It is a New Year and these are the cookies we are eating now (as if we need any) after all the food over the holidays! The plate is appetizer size, the package teeny tiny and the cookie smaller than a quarter! On to a New Year!
PS I’m showing off a new App too! Cady
Sometimes, I have a lot to say and sometimes I think a photo says it all, don’t you? Sometimes, I’m traveling and sometimes I’m gardening, fiddling in the cottage, or reading a good book. So, I thought a postcard could say what is on my mind! Nothing large, just what I am thinking about or doing right now! Would you like to join in?

This is a fun idea, Cady. My grocery often has Tate’s cookies near the registers, but I’ve not seen the tiny package. From reading the bag in the store, I noticed they come from NY, maybe even Long Island. Never saw them for sale there.

Anne, we got these cookies in our stockings! Yes, they are from New York! But, they were in our grocery stores at the checkout over Christmas! Hope you are doing well! Lightning, thunder and rain, rain, rain here today! Cady

I woke hearing thunder rolling through the mountains and later saw lightning flash. That must have been before 7 am. Rain should move away by noon.

Yes, that is about the same time we got it! Still raining here though, good day for blogging! Cadyt

I’m going to the store today and hope to remember to look for tiny cookies. We are given Lebkuchen from Germany every year. Some of those wonderful things are as big as IHOP pancakes! Talk about contrast!

I didn’t read your message before going to Ingles. I told David what I was looking for, and he pointed to the Tate display. Those tiny cookies were there, but I didn’t take a photo. I showed him how small the bag was, and he laughed. I read the bag, and they come from Southampton on Long Island. I’ve been to that rather snooty, rich town.

And they obviously like really small cookies! Is Ingles your grocery store? I’ve never heard of that one! Cady

Ingles is a local chain. I think they have stores in NC, GA, and TN, or at least eastern TN. The stores are huge and have tons of choices. I like their house brands, too. The workers are helpful and friendly. When people come from NY to visit, we always take them to Ingles. Who knew a grocery store could be a tourist attraction?
