And, just like that, we are off to Istanbul, Turkey! We have met all the Covid compliances!!!! We have our N95 masks, that have to be worn on the ship and at all destinations……….We have all the visas, and Covid heath insurance documents needed for certain countries. My there has been a lot of stuff…….and our itinerary has been shaken up so, it hardly resembles our original vacation! But, we are on the move! So, today a little sneak preview of some of the stops in Turkey!

We will be staying in Istanbul overnight before we board the ship. We have been here before, so we have seen a great deal before.
If you would like to see our previous visits look HERE………..for our first visit and the Old Historic City…….
Or, for some doors, HERE
Or, for the food and a good background story of one neighborhood, HERE
Or, for one of the best Tours EVER, HERE
On this trip, we will be visiting Istanbul twice, so when we circle around the second time, we will be seeing some new neighborhoods for us….. first the Ottoman Neighborhood……
The pre-postcards are going out to you now!

And, I want to try this………or something similar…….

Then, off to other Turkish cities……I have included one photo of some of the cities, to show what we are interested in…..
Going to Ephesus, we will be visiting the House of the Virgin Mary…….

One more photo, doesn’t hurt…….

And the Basilica of StJohn…………

I am keeping my eyes peeled for these trees and the decorative gourds in Bodrum, Turkey….

We will be visiting some, a lot of historical Unesco World Sites, mostly ruins……I’ll see how I get on with that!

Some more ruins in Pergamum, Turkey……….

Even more in Aspendos, Turkey……….

We have a total of 11 stops in Turkey……..lots of homes to visit and meals to be eaten and sites to be seen! My favorites are the home visits with the locals! Then Off to Greece! Stay tuned!
Finally, you’re off! I’m praying for your safety, and I’ll look forward to your blog post reports, too, especially interesting to this “retired” Bible scholar/teacher!

Thanks! We’ll be seeing lots of architecture, ruins, churches and holy sites! We have six or seven in-home visits, in Turkey, as well! Those are always my favorites! I hope we have a guest lecturer on mythology too! I want to know about all those Greek goddesses and temples too! Ha ha! Cady

I presume you’re home again now, but I’ll follow with interest as I haven’t been to any of those places in Turkey. Happy travels!
