It’s been awhile since I did a Weekend Coffee Share! What have I been up to? Grab a cup and we’ll have a chat over coffee!
International travel has been on hold for two years, for us, and that has been a real bummer! I’ve had plenty of time to move schedules around! But, so far, it looks good for travel this year, except one small bump in the road………..We are scheduled to go to the Ukraine in early Spring………we are waiting patiently every day, to see what is going on there or to see if we will be re-routed to a new destination altogether. In the meantime, I am keeping focus on the other places we will see this year. This week, I discovered a new App for my IPhone and it has worked out very well for me………It is called Pluto.
I have finally found an App that allows me to keep all of my travel plans on my phone and in one place! First of all, you create a Profile List of things you like to do. Then you make Pinboards of the places you will be visiting or wanting to visit. It has a calendar feature so you can do a countdown or leave it empty, if you are not sure of the dates. When you select your cities of travel, it makes Pinboards for you, based on what you are interested in. My Pinboards are See and Do, Eat and Drink, Shop, Stay, Transport, and General. By selecting the Explore Tab, I can see what others have done in my selected cities and what they had to say about it. I can then add their recommendations (Their Pinboard) to my Pinboard, if I want to. Or, if I want to save one of my specific items, like a hotel with all the info etc, I go to the hotel’s website and then save the website into Pluto, with a map, address, phone number, photos and any notes I might want to add. So easy!
I particularly like that I am able to save the See’s and Do’s………In the Explore Tab, I have found so many things to do and see that I was not aware of………and all I had to do was add them to my Pinboard! It’s like having your best friend giving ideas and tips on spots you too would enjoy! It makes traveling and keeping organized a lot simpler! And, the best part, IT’S FREE! Here are a few places I have added to my profile…….so far……….

We will be staying at an oasis in the desert near Dubai, UAE………stargazing, camel riding and a spa awaits!
EVERYTHING about Singapore sounds exotic to me! My list is getting longer and longer for Singapore!
And, our favorite city, here in the US at any time, is Nashville! So, I made a Pinboard for Nashville too! I have had a lot of fun adding to all my Pinboards this weekend!
This year we are traveling to 17 countries and 34 different cities! Pluto is definitely helping me keep all my plans in one place, where I know where to find them! You don’t let the grass grow, Cady! A one woman expedition to conquer the planet. I’m envious, but that sounds a very nifty app. I keep my notes long hand or carry Rough Guide with me and it’s pretty cumbersome. I usually get lost in the moment and forget some of the things I wanted to see. Yep, I need you to organise me. Happy Sunday! And good luck with the Ukraine.

Yeah, I have no idea what they are going to do about the Ukraine…….We were traveling from Istanbul to Bulgaria, Romania and then the Ukraine before heading out of the Black Sea, to other parts of Turkey and then off to several islands of Greece. Final destination is Israel, where we are staying for a week in Jerusalem before returning home. That is only one trip! I should have plenty to blog about! By the way, your comment about long hand notes gave me an idea for a Challenge this week, that I didn’t know how to tackle! Thanks! Cady

Greece is still on our list … one day. I hope you will see all the places you’re hoping for this year (maybe you can see Ukraine if you’re part of a military group).

34 cities and 17 countries is quite some schedule. I’ll enjoy reading alla out it and I can see why Pluto’s so helpful.

I will have lots of material to work with! We will be gone about three months total, broken down with a breather at home before we set off again! so about six weeks each! Cady

Four cruises total, broken up. Two in the Spring, two in the Fall with land packages before and after each cruise…….. It’s going to be a lot to take in! Cady
