Welcome to Just One Person From Around the World!
I have stopped watching the news….I have dropped all social media, except for my blog, which I try to keep to positive vibes…. there are a lot of folks in the world, who are everyday folks, just trying to provide food and shelter and love……….they are trying to make a living…….keep their kids educated and basically just take care of their families, without an agenda. Me too. I think there is more of us…. Just trying to live our lives….. So, I would like to take the time to focus on one person a week to bring us together, to celebrate ordinary folks.
Feel free to join Just One Person From Around the World by creating your own post and then share your link in the comments! Also, add the tag JUST ONE PERSON FROM AROUND THE WORLD to your post so it is easier for me to find! Thank You!
Today we are going to COLORFUL New Orleans!

We have to stop at the Cake Café!

It is bright and cheery indoors too! Got to hang on to the Mardi Gras mask!

MY “One Person,” for today is very wistful, but colorful, just like New Orleans! And all jeweled up! Must be all the hot sauce! Do they use that sauce on cake too?

I am enjoying pouring over my photos to find us everyday folks! Won’t you join in? To see how all this started look at Just One Person From Around the World!
Here are the Contributors from last week! If I missed anyone, please let me know! These were awesome and you won’t want to miss a one! The stories along with the photos are priceless!

Great portrait of the jeweled cake eater. And I also love those doors.
I can’t match your portrait this week, so I decided to change species for my week’s portrait:

I’d love to visit New Orleans and the colours of your first two photos in particular make me want to go even more. Your ‘person’ looks quite a character. I wonder what he was thinking about?

Oh my, what a post! It’s amazing to learn all about people from all over the world! What hard work and the realization of why things are invented! I have my great grandmothers iron! It is sooooooo heavy too! These women must have had daunting arms! It will be sad in a way (but not probably for them) but maybe so, because this tradition will no longer be known about once these people are gone! Those clothes look much cleaner than anything we get from the washer! Especially the whites! AND I haven’t ironed in years! I love starched shirts though! Cady

Cady, What a lovely post about a colourful city and its people. This week I wrote about Victor H. Green the publisher of The Green Book that initiated a beautiful oscar winning movie of the same name. Though his book was not necessarily the main subject of the movie, it has a poignant tale behind it. My one person is Victor H. Green. You can read more about the Green Book here https://girlinniagara.com/2021/04/13/the-green-book-a-travel-guide-are-we-there-yet/
