Good Mornin’ SOS’ers! We’re still in Kristiansand, Norway, so let’s get a look at what I think makes for a great entrance to a new city…..
When you first approach a city, whether by ship or road, does it look appealing? Is there a welcome sign? Is the sight clean or dirty? Is their something that focuses on the main events or what they are known for? These are signs that I look for! At the Port of Kristiansand several of the boxes were ticked off! It was a clean and neat as a pin………..there were floral arrangements to add color…….there were old photos to show days gone by and notable features……the port was easy to navigate….. It’s a good way to start the day and gives you a glimpse of what is to come………if the port is like this, the city will more likely be just as appealing……….

We’ve been walking around the different neighborhoods of Kristiansand……..there were the fruit and vegetable stalls………simple, efficient, and clean. With lots of fresh seasonal choices………

YUM!

Many back to nature and natural settings……..their focus was on healthy living and the outdoors……this was in the children’s park……..

There were many walking areas and parks. Flower arrangements were EVERYWHERE!

Whenever, I see one of these in a garden, I photograph it…..I want one! There were different outdoor seating areas……a focus on being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful weather!

I like dark blue vases in my garden……….but I have never seen one this large!

Like our own front gardens, we should try to make it a welcoming as can be! That goes, also, for the main entrances to our cities………… it makes an impact on everything! See you next week in another Norwegian city!
The instructions for SOS are easy. The photos can be flowers, vegetables, a garden design, whatever, as long as it’s garden related and posted on Saturday! So, its six photos. Of Gardens. On Saturday. Easy Peasy. To see all the SOS’s look at SIX ON SATURDAY, hosted by the Propagator, to check out all of them each Saturday! See you next week in another spot!
I just love the potted colour. To me that is very welcoming! The insect hotel is huge – well I have not see one that big – and extremely interesting!

You’ve hit lots of my buttons today: clean places, wonderful flowers and farmer’s market, a lovely place to sit (at least if it’s not too hot), and an insect hotel. Not really a fan of the gigantic vase, though. Maybe if it had some plants in it, but it just looks weird to me as is.

Thanks for a lovely walkabout tour of Kristiansand, a chara. Beir bua! I’d want the wheely sun lounger too, but to be honest, I’ve enough seats.

My favorite color pot, I have several, although none that size! I do see them though, at the pot (plant pot, we have more of the other kind of pot stores) store nearby. They just cost way too much for me! What a wonderful insect habitat, I haven’t seen one of those that large!

What an amazing vase – quite a centrepiece! 😁
Beautiful planting around the area, but as soon as I saw your market stall with all that fresh fruit I lifted my pen and wrote ‘strawberries’ on my shopping list! We managed to harvest three strawberries this afternoon from the garden. There will be more, but I love fruit & food markets – and could almost smell that fruit from your photograph! I will hopefully have some delicious berries delivered in my grocery order next week!
