We’ve made into the port at Kristiansand and I am loving this place! I’ve divided the city up into four distinct sections; the wharf and port area, the beach and condo area, the main square and shopping area, and the neighborhoods. My, we have a lot more to see, so we had better get a move on……… We have already been through the Fiskebrygga (Fish Market) and the wharf area in case you missed it and want to go back to that post first. I have decided, if I was a painter I would be so thrilled with the light and color here! There is just SOMETHING about the light! But, let’s move on now to the Otterdalsparken! First, under the SLOW Bridge!

Near the bridge are large, white, wooden-framed houses that once belonged to sea captains and German merchants.

There is abundance of hand-painted tiles made by school-age children, decorating the underside of the “Slow Bridge.” This is a public piece of art by artist Anna Berthelsen and many, many children. The children have described their dreams on thousands of small mirrored tiles.

This looks to be the top of an old lighthouse, maybe, and one can never have enough anchors!

Coming to the childrens’ park, it looks like some of the adults play here too. Playing outside is good for your heart and head, so shows the sand sculpture to the left.

Or you could play here………

or here………

or inside this fella………

Or enjoy some color on a pole…………

Or just dig in, at the water’s edge………….

or ride a pony………..

I loved the fountains………….

and the petunia tree stands……..

I could sit here all day……….

and look at it at every angle……..

This fountain reminds me of Stonehenge………

There are a grouping of fountains in the park………so restful………

And then there are the condos……whatever size you want………with a closed or open balcony and a great view of the sea………

with your own flower garden……….

Lots of condos………..just come out your front door and get in your boat………..

Or sit in one of many, small gardens on the shore line…….

and watch all the kids and folks in the park………

I hope you have enjoyed our stroll along the shore…..and into this charming park and condo area…..it would make the perfect summer! There is a lot more to see in Kristiansand, so I’ll see you here again tomorrow!
Fabulous tour of the shore, thank you.

Long ago I would have enjoyed bringing my young children here to play in and on those whimsical toys. Or are they called playground equipment? Modern safety-conscious equipment on today’s school playgrounds aren’t nearly as imaginative.
