Six On Saturday in Tallinn, Estonia

Good morning SOS’ers! This morning I am taking us for a stroll through Tallinn, Estonia…….Enjoy!

The outdoor cafes, in Old Town Square, were surrounded by baskets and baskets of petunias.

Tallinn, Estonia

The Tapas Bar invited us in with bright pink geraniums…….

“Petunias on a post” here, but notice those two trees?  The leaning trees just look odd and definitely out of place……..    There are very few trees on this wide, wide street. These two trees were planted in front of this building in celebration of Peter the Great of Russia, when he visited here years and years ago. But, the townsfolk make sure there are always two trees here……

I took this photo just because I could…….he was kinda lonely on the street.

There were flowers at the windows too………

This one was my favorite!

Flower Power Takeaway……………In Tallinn the flower markets are open 24/7, 365 days a year! They really, really like their flowers and are given to both men and women on every occasion imaginable! You may come to a host’s home without a bottle of wine, but you better show up with flowers! That was a direct quote from our tour guide! I would love to investigate more about these flower markets! I need another visit to Tallinn!

It’s fun on Saturdays to see everyone’s posts on gardens, plants, flowers and more!

Won’t you join us with your SOS?

The instructions for SOS are easy. The photos can be flowers, vegetables, a garden design, whatever, as long as it’s garden related and posted on Saturday!  So, it’s six photos. Of Gardens. On Saturday. Easy Peasy. To see all the SOS’s look at  SIX ON SATURDAY, hosted by the Propagator, to check out all of them each Saturday! See you next week in another spot!

I think a city’s downtown should delight us with displays of flowers spilling over pots and urns, even window boxes where appropriate. Your favorite is mine, too, of the old wash tub filled with red geraniumns.

Those trees are quite remarkable! I liked the geranium as well, but my favourite was the photo above it w/those vibrant petunias cascading out of the window box. Would love to see their flower markets.

  6. There is something so charming about window shots and their bright flower pots. I think they work best (as in your favourite) in deep, stone alcoves. Thanks for the walkabout!
