Let’s walk over a different bridge today and take a look at the city from a different view! Stockholm is made up of several little islands and you can walk over a bridge to reach some or take a ferry to reach the others. Here is how it looks under one of the roads and bridges! They twist and turn to connect the smaller islands together. They are shored up on pylons……..

Here’s a closer view…………..

Above the ground we get views like this……

or this……..

You are never very far from the water…….

Here, your yacht can pull up right to the hotel……….

or maybe we’ll choose the Grand Hotel………..

You can really get a good look of the scheme of things from this view…..

I noticed what the boys liked to do along the shore on this hot August day.

and what the girls liked to do…………

I had to take a look at the beautiful boats too……….

This boat brought along the olive tree………..

and was quite long………

One of my favorites was “Fritz,” who looked very well tended to me……..

Were these replicas of the trees or stones that were once used to moor the boats?

I have decided this has to be a girl’s boat. It is spic and span with many seating areas, one below and one above. There are candles and flowers aboard and oh, yeah, one must have the disco ball! Party!

We’ve had a great few days in Stockholm…….there is so much to see….but it is time to board the Explorer!

Let’s get a view from here…..on our way out of Stockholm…….

This is how I would want to live here……..with my own little lighthouse on the rocks……..

And, I could vacation when I felt like it, right across the water here…..

and maybe visit grandma here………..

It’s just a dreamy sort of place to live……I couldn’t have imagined any better!
Travel Takeaway on Stockholm….get a good map before you leave home and decide what places are important for you to see. Old Town, (Gamla Stan) which is our thing, was the closest to our hotel, the Sheraton. The hotel was centrally located, near the water and very modern, with all the amenities. If we had had more time in Stockholm we would also have liked to gone over to the island of Djurgarden, where Skansen is. It is Europe’s first and best open-air folk museum with more than 150 old homes, schools and churches and shops. Need I have another reason to go back to Stockholm? I don’t think so…..
See you next in Tallinn, Estonia!
