Thursday Doors: Corfu, Greece

It’s 7am. It’s hot. We’re on a bus. In Corfu, Greece. The new day of adventure has started. Where are we going first?  The bus driver is making an impromptu stop. One of our fellow riders has made a suggestion for a stop, before we move on to the scheduled highlights. Hmmmm………..anyone up for a kumquat liqueur?

There are nibbles to be had with the liqueur……….

Perhaps the creme liqueur would be best……….

Bottles and bottles of the stuff!

and boxes and boxes of candy!

What does this have to do with Doors you ask? Well, after a sip sips of the liqueurs, the doors will be so much more interesting, won’t they?

Okay, back on the road again…………we  are in the historic district this morning…………

Do you think there are doors between the doors or am I seeing things?  Maybe just a wee too much of liqueur this morning……

Have a great door week! Look here to see what others are doing for Norm’s Doors!

It’s easy to do Norm’s Doors. Photograph some doors and post them to Thursday Doors on Thursday!

PS All photos were taken on our IPhones this year……..we are traveling lighter!

  1. I visited Corfu many, many years ago, chiefly because of a Mary Stewart book I’d read. I don’t remember much of it, but I did enjoy seeing your photos. I’ll have to pass on the cream version of the drink, though. Sounds much too sweet for me. 🙂

Glad I found yo back, somehow I missed you last 2 weeks – Wow, that’s a whole meal at Lazaris if you get a bite from each treat! Is it this time of the year (soo busy!) that you went? Love the covered walkways and be able to walk in the shade – they have several of them in California too, but not much in Holland (because they don’t need shade, lol!)

    1. Junieper2, we were there last August! It takes me a lot of time to write the blog posts from our travels. About the time I am done with lasts year’s travels we will be off for this year! I do not write when I am on vacation, because I am ON VACATION! This year visiting 9 new countries!

Used to travel regularly, but since I entered a period of doing 9 x 7 feet, and 10 x 17 feet paintings, I haven’t because of the costs of doing these paintings. But I still have a “travelbug” heart:):) Love your travel journals, because you are interested in different kinds of things, not only one, lol.

Oh, forgot about the doors – I like the decoration above the door, and makes it into an arch! Have a great weekend wherever you are:)

Love your little tour of Corfu. I may never see it. I recently bought a refill of Mediteraneo perfume by Carthusia made in Capri https://www.carthusia.it/ It smells like a field of wildflowers near a lemon grove like I imagine it. You might like it.

    1. Sherry when we were in Sorrento (I have not got that far in my blog posts yet) women were carrying shopping bags from Carthusia! I mean like every woman! So I had to find a shop to see what the hubbub was all about. I waited over an hour because there was an Italian woman, who could not make up her mind about which perfume she wanted. Believe me when when I say they all smelled heavenly. I bought the Lemon. It smells just like a lemon grove in Italy! Absolutely heavenly! I love their perfumes!

You found some very nice old doors on this outing. Liqueur or any other booze at 7:00 am, nah I’ll take a pass on that 😉

  6. I’ll take a pass on booze at any hour before 7:00 PM! But how delightful a kumquat liqueur must be on a hot afternoon in Corfu!
