I promised to show you our Hotel in Berat, Albania. This is the Mangalem Hotel in the historic district, on the main street, so to speak. It is across the street from the Infopoint, where you can sign up for tours, pick up your audioguides and buy your postcards, all in one stop. First, some photos of the neighborhood……….

and then the entrance to the Hotel Mangalem……….

This is a very traditional hotel……….the lounge…….

with a Book Exchange………..

The bar………….with a beautiful wooden fresco……….

Another way to the outside……..past a display of old radios……….never give up your old radios!

Someone is in charge of the flowers and decorations……..

And a hall on the lower level for parties……….

Artwork revealing what Berat is famous for……The White Windows, the Castle Hill area, and its historical past. You can read about those in my previous posts.

Then upstairs to the rooms!

Past the symbol of Albania………

The rooms…….very modern and spotless. Didn’t get this photo until check out time and they were already cleaning the room!

Up another landing to the restaurant ……….

with a view……….and fresh air……..

and I had to peek at the gardens below……….

And all this for 43.00 dollars a night! Fabulous! It ticked off all the boxes…..great location, great food, comfortable, spotless and with a very helpful staff! I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at a typical hotel in Berat…. It is a very special place! Next, we’re been invited to a vineyard! See you there!
How lovely to see these scenes of peace, especially as now when violence has erupted again.
