Six On Saturday: Something to Warm Up To

Good morning SOSer’s! Today, I am doing two posts……….so please bear with me, I just couldn’t help it! The older I get I find myself paying more attention to my surroundings. Especially the flowers tucked in here and there. This week I was writing about Croatia and decided to add these photos in a SOS. It’s amazing how a flower arrangement can change the setting. First, are these lovely blooms at a seaside table! I think the lavender color with the black and white  stripe of the chairs is very striking and inviting! Did you notice the touch of red for accent?

Here was another restaurant……I liked the combination of lime green, hot pink, bright yellow and the deep purple……..and the view of the sea just makes you want to sit here all day.

This small restaurant had the perfect  display at each table. I would have liked some of those glass bottles/vases…………..

This was the best find of the day, garden wise……….I often wonder where do the folks get their flowers? Do they exchange them among themselves? Is there a garden center in a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Hmmmmmm. As I stood waiting in this park outside the castle gates in Dubrovnik I had time to watch the goings on. There was a small, but very busy hut, that looked like it was a small garden center. As I watched, cars and trucks would pull up and unload plants………trays of plants, pots of plants. Dubrovnik’s Old Town is pedestrian only with very steep stairs, in very narrow passageways for the many shops and restaurants. It made sense that the floral shop/garden center would be right outside the castle walls………and in a nice shaded park. This was where the major parking lot was too, so it was good for deliveries and good for the folks wanting plants.

I had to check out their display………

I really, really liked the FEATURED Plant! Does anyone know what that is?

I hope you have enjoyed a warm up from bright and sunny and flowery, Croatia this morning! Next on to my own garden adventures in my garden this week.

Won’t you join us with your SOS?

The instructions for SOS are easy. The photos can be flowers, vegetables, a garden design, whatever, as long as it’s garden related and posted on Saturday!  So, it’s six photos . Of Gardens. On Saturday. Easy Peasy. To see all the SOS’s look at  SIX ON SATURDAY, hosted by the Propagator, to check out all of them each Saturday! See you next week in another spot!
