There’s More to Burano, Italy!

I’ve posted about our stops at the port in Venice, HERE and HERE. Now, you can see exactly where we have been, by looking on the map. If you have been to Venice before, or want to spend some time away from the maddening crowds of Venice, you might want to think about going to Murano or Burano. The water taxi can take you on the forty minute ride to these small outcrop islands. Both are very different and much slower paced! Burano is the spot for artists, I think. The colors here are fabulous and the light on the buildings and the play on the water in the canals is so inspiring. It was interesting to know that the color selection of the paint on the buildings is not hodgepodge, as one may think. The color scheme is regulated by committee. So let’s take one last walk through Burano!

I imagine, not everyone sees Mary and Jesus above their restaurant!
