I’ve posted about our stops at the port in Venice, HERE and HERE. Now, you can see exactly where we have been, by looking on the map. If you have been to Venice before, or want to spend some time away from the maddening crowds of Venice, you might want to think about going to Murano or Burano. The water taxi can take you on the forty minute ride to these small outcrop islands. Both are very different and much slower paced! Burano is the spot for artists, I think. The colors here are fabulous and the light on the buildings and the play on the water in the canals is so inspiring. It was interesting to know that the color selection of the paint on the buildings is not hodgepodge, as one may think. The color scheme is regulated by committee. So let’s take one last walk through Burano!
I imagine, not everyone sees Mary and Jesus above their restaurant!
I’m always interested in streetlights!
This was the window of the bakery. It was the busiest place in town. With all these cookies I had to go in………..
and I waited in line with all the locals……
I could eat one of each! Look at the cakes!
Well, I might need some fancy pasta too, to go with the Coke!
That poppy color is growing on me!
I know a fellow gardener lives here………..
We walk and crisscross over the bridges, back and forth, back and forth.
This was a gorgeous place! Pink with the poppy accent!
I looked at it from this way and that!
This is one of my favorite photos!
It’s time to head back to the ship……
We are now starting the second two weeks or our cruise……..where are we headed next? See you there!
