Good Morning! Let’s have coffee on the porch this morning, since it is bright and sunny! At least for awhile! It has rained and rained and rained everyday! My flowers look fabulous in spots and are drowning in other spots, but that is nature…………. I’m playing with my favorite Apps this morning so spare me a minute! I must say I am a little giddy from a morning of sunshine!

Anyway on to the indoor projects……….when it rains it pours does it not? And with all that rain I was indoors quite a bit and that leads from one thing to another. It all started when I went to my neighbors home at 0500 to watch the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan. Every time there is a Royal Wedding my neighbor throws a party to watch it. We all show up punctually at 0500 with our best fascinator (hat) on…… I bought mine in Scotland one year during the Queen’s Garden Party. No, I wasn’t invited, but I did buy a hat and wear it because everyone in Edinburgh seemed to be wearing one that week. So my hat does get some use here too. To make a long story short, I developed neighbor wall envy or NWE, when I saw what she had done to one of her walls of her cottage. She had painted a chalkboard on one of her walls and I thought it looked fabulous!
Well, I came home from the party and like I said, it rained and rained, so what was a girl to do, but think about walls, I ask you? Then I went to the paint store. Do you know you can make any wall a chalk wall? In any color? They just take the basic chalk paint and tint it with the color you choose. I liked Wrought Iron from Benjamin Moore. It was a gray-black. Then I had to tell hubby my plans…………that took a little convincing. “You want to do what? A black wall? What are you going to be writing on it?”
That is the first question from anyone, who asks about my new walls. Did you notice I said walls? “What ARE you going to write on it?” What does it matter? We started on a small wall. I liked that small wall so much that I decided I wanted a kitchen wall (just one) painted in chalkboard too. Hubby spent all Memorial Day Weekend painting walls for me! What a guy! So here is the outcome…….
He framed the wall in the yellow original color and I really liked the way it looked! It’s going to be my Garden Wall………since it leads to the garden…………

Then he painted one wall in the kitchen……… Wow, what a difference that made! That is also painted in chalk paint, but I am not going to write on that wall for the time being………but I can if I want to!

Then I decided I needed new rugs to match my new colors…………this one seemed perfect………..so I ordered it. One thing leads to another………

Here is the new rug in the kitchen. The end flap is being held down flat by my gardening books at present, so it can unfurl.

And then I decided a new kitchen table rug was in order too.

So you can see why hubby is a little nervous that it is still raining so much every day……since I am now eyeballing the living room ………….
The sun needs to shine so I can get back in the garden!!!! I’ll show “the Garden Wall” and my scribbles next! I hope you had a good week! Let me know what you are up to!
Love the rug. I’d pick the same one.

You have a flair for decorating, and your project is very good looking. It has been raining here as well. I finished a wall quilt I had been working on and now I’m moving on to a headboard project.
