WeekendCaféShare: Smiles All Around!

Bonjour, hola and olá!  Come in, come in. What kind of coffee would you like this week? Iced?  I know, let’s have a Bailey’s Mocha Frappucino!  I’ve got plenty of jars about, since I have been using them this week! Come sit on the porch a spell and tell me all about your week! Was it good?

My poison ivy is gone and I have had a fabulous week! I got the next installment of the Cruising Section on the blog done yesterday. It was about Travel Safety, and some new products available to make your like less stressful while on your vacation!  I am having so much fun getting ready for our cruise! Everyday I find out something new! This week’s blog post from the Cruise Critics was, “What Not to Do on a Ship’s Balcony!” Number one was, “do not have sex on the  balcony railing!”  People have fallen off and had to be rescued! How embarrassing!!! How exceedingly drunk would you need to be for that? Number two was, “do not sun bathe naked on your balcony!” You can be seen from the other balconies on the ship and from the land!  Well, I guess that pretty much ruins the fun I had planned! Ha Ha!

I did several batches of food this week in my Instant Pot. It is so convenient to use! I made  four pint jars of Strawberry-Walnut-Maple-Oatmeal and four pint jars of Blackberry-Walnut-Maple-Oatmeal in two batches in the Instant Pot! I mixed the ingredients of the oatmeal then placed 1/2 cup into the jar, then added the berries and walnuts on the top. Place the jars in the Instant Pot and voila! Done! Afterwards, I put six of the jars in the freezer to save for later when I’m too busy to make breakfasts. Then I got on a chicken spree! I made two pounds of Spicy Mexican Chicken, two pounds of Salsa Verde Chicken, two pounds of Creamy Chicken Bacon Ranch and two pounds of Mexican rice! I put all that in the freezer too. And, I had to try to make hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot too. Exactly two minutes of cooking gets a perfect, easy to peel egg, with no green edge around the yoke! So I am happy with the results I got cooking this week! I got all the recipes from Pinterest! Here is another recipe I thought you might like this week! Find it Here!

Raspberry Vanilla Frozen Coffee

I am still practicing French, Spanish and now Portuguese too, on Duolingo. Everyday I spend about twenty minutes or so on it. Spanish and Portuguese are new languages for me, but the words are very similar in French. I just have to remember what language I am in!

The rest of my week was spent on research and I started a new IPhone Photography Class online. I thought if I became more proficient with my IPhone I could use it more on my vacation and not lug my big camera around.  My iPhone photos seem to be awesome or ho-hum!!!!!  I can’t believe what all I have learned in this course so far and I am only through Module One! So I will keep you posted on that!  Well that sums up my week! What all did you do? Let me know!

This is part of the #Weekend Coffee Share! I think it is great having coffee with all of you! It is hosted by Nerd in the Brain!  Be sure to link up so you can see what everyone else is saying over coffee!

  4. A Bailey’s Mocha Frappucino sounds lovely, thank you. 🙂 My week has been pretty busy, but I can’t actually remember what I was doing! It would have involved grocery shopping, cooking, tidying and gardening. I must go back and catch up with all your posts about the cruise – I am still quite far behind with all my blog reading.

      1. We’ve had a spell of very hot weather, but it has cooled down now to ‘normal’ temperatures. We’ve had some light rain, but not enough to help the grass which is starting to look a bit brown. Apart from that it’s flourishing and I’m looking forward to lot of flowers appearing soon. 🙂

Those drinks look delicious. Have a fun cruise — yeah , those “not to do” things mentioned do seem to be no brainers. I couldn’t even begin to imagine sex on the balcony railing – Can’t believe people would do that kind of…. ohhh wait, yes – I would *shakes head*. That i-Phone photo class sounds cool. Hope you have an awesome week ahead.

    1. Tena I am really learning a lot in that class. I hope to use it a lot more than my camera on vacation. I just get nervous though thinking I should have the camera because I’d be sick if my photos turned out awful on my phone! Lots of practice required before hand so I am comfortable just with the IPhone and won’t have to think about what I need to be doing!🙋

I’m your sure your pictures will be great… And nice thing is you can snap pictures a lot faster and easier with phone then having to lug around a camera.

    1. Oh that stuff is so nasty! I still have the scabs but the itching is over with. My garden is getting weedy with the rain EVERYDAY. Will get help with that over the 4th weekend!

Wow you sound like you’ve been busy! Glad your poison ivy is gone! The Instant Pot sounds amazing, as does the oatmeal. I tried once to learn more Spanish on DuoLingo and ended up getting so frustrated that I just gave up. I hope you have better luck with it than I did. 😄 Have a great week!

    1. I have studied on Duolingo everyday for over five years! It’s addictive! I went on to study Italian, which I am so-so in and French which I am fluent in and now adding Spanish and Portuguese! I love the Instant Pot, one of the best investments I have made. This week I will be making Cheesecake in it! Have a great week!
