Come in, come in. Don’t trip over the plastic on the steps and you can choose to walk under the ladder, or not! Can you believe this weather? It has been so warm! We had decided to have the cottage, all the trim, and the porches painted and a swarm of bees, about 12 painters, showed up and here we are wrapped in plastic, with ladders galore and singing painters everywhere! Would you like Morning Café or Spirited Start? Let me show you my pantry. I got carried away with the automatic shipments! There, sit down. I’ll pour you a cuppa, or would you rather have a strawberry smoothie? I can whip that right up! I am so glad to see you this morning! Don’t mind the pounding or the flapping of the shutters.

What do you think about the new mailbox plan? I haven’t gone over to see it yet, but I will go today. Where exactly are they placing our mailboxes? At the end of the street? I can say, I won’t miss parking at the post office! That is just an accident waiting to happen! Too many cars going in and out and no one pays any attention! I will miss picking up my mail though, it seemed quaint that after all these years, we still did not have mail delivery to our cottages. I will miss seeing everyone at the post office. Now we’ll just have to get together for weekend coffees.
Yes, we have our vacation planned for this year, how about you? You know we said we would never take a cruise. Well never say never. We were running out of places, that we wanted to go to, that we haven’t been to already! My youngest daughter loves to cruise and she just went on and on about it. So we booked a cruise for the summer in the Mediterranean, although we had already been to some of the places in Italy. And then I kept thinking about it and thinking about it. Would I like being around sooooo many people to eat, to tour, and just rub up against? You know how I like my privacy and out of the way places, where other Americans rarely trod! So, we cancelled the trip. Then some good friends of ours went on a cruise on a smaller ship all around Iceland, and then to Norway, Sweden and Russia. They loved it! So we checked that out and decided on the new ship, Regent’s, Seven Seas Explorer, from the UK, to France, Portugal, and Spain. We thought it was the right thing to do since everything is included in the price, there are only 750 passengers, and we have not been to any of the stops, not even to Southampton where it starts! We went all out, but there is still lots of planning to do. I’ll let you know as it goes along. We booked for September, so you’ll hear me talk about this for months!!!!

Yes, I am still working on The Book. I like my characters so much I just can’t kill one of them off! I did read a book the last couple of weeks, one I normally would never have picked up. You know how I like history or mysteries or books about gardening. I rarely read books set in the present time, I get all that drama from the news. Anyway, this book was The Bette Davis Club and I decided to read it because the author, Jane Lotter, published it through Amazon and then she died! After her death it was picked up by another publishing house. She even wrote her own obituary. I liked her spunk and the book was spunky too. It even had some history in it. I won’t go into details and ruin it for you, but I gave it a thumbs up. I think you would like it. Nothing heavy. Well the men are coming up the steps, time to get a move on I guess. See you next week!
This is my first post with #Weekend Coffee Share! I think it will be fun! It will be hosted by Nerd in the Brain starting next weekend! Be sure to link up so you can see what everyone else is saying over coffee! See you next week on Saturday!
